Introduction

Roatán Caribbean Living ("RCL", "we") operates RCL Private Collection at rclcollection.com — a private property site for homes, residences and build-ready homesites on Roatán, Bay Islands. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to buyers, referrers and visitors alike.

Information we collect

We collect only what the product needs to work:

  • Your name, when you schedule a call, plan an island visit, request the price guide, or are introduced by a referrer.
  • Your email address — it identifies your account and receives your confirmations and sign-in links.
  • Your phone / WhatsApp number, used to confirm calls and visits and to keep one record per person.
  • A budget range chosen from a fixed list, your property interests, and the notes of your relationship to the person who introduced you.
  • The properties you view, save to your shortlist, or receive in a collection built for you, and your bookings and trip itineraries.
  • Basic usage information such as pages visited and the language you prefer.
  • Messages you send us through the contact form or reply channels such as WhatsApp.
  • Referral attribution: the referrer code on the link you used, time-stamped when your introduction first happens.

How we use it

We use this information to:

  • Confirm and manage your calls, island visits and tours, and follow up on your enquiry.
  • Operate your account area — your shortlist, your bookings, your itinerary and your property brief.
  • Let your referrer and our team follow your journey through the pipeline, so nobody asks you the same question twice.
  • Understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • Meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Referrers and your data

If a referrer introduced you, they can see your contact record in full — including internal notes written by them or by the RCL team, which are never shown to you as marketing and never published. A referrer above your referrer in the program sees only a masked summary of you (name, partially hidden email and phone, interests, pipeline stage). Attribution is time-stamped and can only be changed by RCL through a documented reassignment.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the referrer who introduced you (as described above), with service providers who run our infrastructure (hosting, database, email delivery — currently Google Cloud and Resend), and where the law requires it. Our sister site roataninvestors.com shares one backend with this site: a person introduced on either site is the same record.

Retention

We keep your information while your account or enquiry is active and for as long as we need it to document referral protection and completed transactions. You can ask us to delete your record at any time; attribution history that we must keep for contractual reasons is retained in anonymised form.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the data we hold about you (signed-in buyers can download it directly from their account page), ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — write to us at the address below.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete and opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information).

Residents of other U.S. states with privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and others) have equivalent rights, which we honour on request.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We operate from Honduras with infrastructure in the United States. By using the site you understand your information is processed in those jurisdictions under this policy's protections.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be flagged on the site.
